Call Screening

I don't get a whole lot of phone calls, but most of them of no personal interest to me, so I'm going to start screening everything. I'm thinking of updating my voicemail greeting to reflect that, and figured I'd share the template I'm drafting for feedback.

It's a bit of a play off the “your call is important to us” recordings you'll here when you call the company that's raking in millions in profits but doesn't funnel any of that money into their CX team.

You’ve reached (###) ###–####.

Due to an increase in telemarketing and phishing attempts, all calls to this number are screened. Your call might be important to me, so please leave your name, number, and a short message after the tone, and a callback will be prioritized appropriately.

Thank you.

What do you think? I don't want to sound particularly passive-aggressive or snarky, but I'm fine with (professionally) signaling my frustration with the state of phone calls today.

Yes, this post was drafted after a day of hanging up on scammers. 😅
